Youth on the Frontlines of Fiji’s Drug and HIV Crisis
This video was one of the first things that educated me on the scope of the drug issue and HIV in New Zealand and neighboring Pacific islands. Upon speaking with community leaders from Fiji, I learned that a key factor of drug misuse stems from youth apathy and lack of education. Therefore, through this photo competition, I aim to raise awareness and inspire hope and solidarity to empower young people in New Zealand and Fiji to take action in their communities.

Entry Requirements
- 1. Photo Size:
- Each submitted photo must be no larger than 10 MB.
- 2. Multiple Entries
- Participants may submit multiple entries, but each entry (photo + essay, if applicable) must be submitted separately.
- 3. Essay Requirement (Optional)
- The optional essay (at least 30 words) should describe what is happening in the photo. It can be a brief story, a simple description, or any relevant context.
- 4. Submission Methods
- Online: Submit your photo & optional essay (30 words+) through this webpage.
- Email: Send your photo & optional essay (30 words+) as attachments to our designated competition email address: ceciliacourses@gmail.com
- 5. Content Themes
- Each photo should address issues related to youth in Fiji: drug use, risk of HIV infection, or other social challenges affecting young people.
- 6. Prizes
- FJ$100 each Photo
- 7. Social Media Sharing (Optional)
- Participants could also share their photo and essay on a social media platform (e.g., Facebook or Instagram) and provide the link to the organizer as part of the submission process.
- 8. Usage of Entries
- By entering the competition, participants agree that the submitted photos (and accompanying essays) may be used by the organizers for exhibitions and awareness-raising activities without requiring further permission or incurring liability.
- 9. Deadline and Decision date
- There is no fixed deadline. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, and as long as a photo is selected for exhibition, it will be considered a winning entry.
